On Monday, April 11, Texarkana Independent School District held its first #DiscoverTISD event. The event at the Texas High School Multipurpose Building brought together families and prospective students from across the district. #DiscoverTISD allowed potential stakeholders to gather information about the different schools in our district. Leaders of various TISD programs also spotlighted the vast array of programs available throughout TISD for students from prekindergarten through high school. TISD employees and current students greeted families and offered them the opportunity to register their students for the 2023 - 2024 school year. The Texas High Culinary Arts Program provided hot dogs, Kona Ice passed out snow cones, and visiting kids played on two large blow-ups. The district anticipates that this event will grow each year and provide another opportunity for parents to get to know TISD and the wide variety of alternatives the district offers.
