The Math & Science Coordinators for Elementary and Secondary schools at Texarkana Independent School District support all Pre-Kindergarten - 12 staff in the implementation of the district math and science curriculum. They participate in delivering the vision of TISD and confidently lead teachers to engage and motivate students to achieve success in their study of mathematics and science.
The primary focus for our Math & Science Coordinators is to provide a deeply aligned curriculum to all math and science teachers in the district. They work directly with administration, instructional coaches, directors, and teachers in providing curriculum support, one-on-one support, engaging activities, instructional strategies and district professional development. They also work with administration, instructional coaches, and teachers to collect, analyze and interpret data, and use it to guide instructional decisions. Enhancing teachers’ ability to provide instruction that builds students’ sense of engagement in the ownership of learning is another focal point of the Coordinator.
